Prevention of genital mutilation and education

EXHIBITION – WENDEMI´S DIGNITY

The exhibition "WENDEMI´S DIGNITY - The role of Safeguarding Girls in Combating Poverty" provides information on human rights for women and children by using our work in Burkina Faso as an example. We show the importance of local initiatives in protecting young girls from forced marriages and genital mutilation through education, healthcare and income opportunities.

Prevention of genital mutilation in Germany

It is estimated that there are 30,000 women and girls in Germany who are at risk or are a victim of genital mutilation.

In developing countries, genital mutilation is a particularly dramatic example of the continuous human rights violations against women and girls. The systematic discrimination causes great suffering.
