EXHIBITION – WENDEMI´S DIGNITY

(0 votes)

The exhibition "WENDEMI´S DIGNITY - The role of Safeguarding Girls in Combating Poverty" provides information on human rights for women and children by using our work in Burkina Faso as an example. We show the importance of local initiatives in protecting young girls from forced marriages and genital mutilation through education, healthcare and income opportunities.

The social reality for many women in Burkina Faso is defined by hardship and inequality: women are not allowed to go to school and are denied land ownership, legal aid and political involvement. Their position in society makes them extremely vulnerable to oppression and abuse. In the long run, this practice also affects the social and economic well-being of the community as a whole.

The exhibition WENDEMI´S DIGNITY promotes the protection of women not only as a way of developing effective cooperation in reducing poverty but also draws attention to a key human rights issue.
